Federal & Wolfe opened in August 2010, and has been evolving ever since. Located on the corner of Federal and Wolfe streets in Downtown Auckland, this cafe is a deliberate work in progress, showing it's new life from it's previous existence as a fine dining restaurant in the space. The casual industrial interior is a stark contrast to the seriousness of their "gate to plate" concept for their menu. Their eco-friendly menu goes so far as to show the individual farmers names and organic certification numbers for their meat producers.
Federal & Wolfe won the Lewisham Foundation Award in May 2011 for Best Cafe/Best Barista. They open Monday to Friday only which enables them to have the best possible team of staff working together everyday to provide exceptional service to their customers. Juices are freshly squeezed to order, their coffee is Fairtrade Organic, and they have an extensive menu offering the likes of 7 hour MacKenzie Country lamb with broad bean crush, and Hungarian style sausage on mash with winter greens and hollandaise.
