How do we award the badge?

To earn this badge, a cafe must recycle all their recyclable glass, plastic, paper and cans.

Why do we think it's important?

Recycling gives potentially valuable resources a second life, rather than throwing them into a landfill.

What you can recycle

• Paper and cardboard - including newspapers, office paper, advertising circulars, magazines, envelopes, brown corrugated cardboard and egg cartons. If you can tear it you can recycle it.
• Glass bottles - all green, brown, blue, frosted and clear glass bottles and jars.
• Grade 1-7 plastics (location dependent) - including water bottles, fizzy drink bottles, juice bottles and plastic milk bottles (look for the recycling symbol and number inside it).
• Aluminium and tin/steel cans
